Karen Mende, RYT200 Karen Mende RYT 200 has lived in Nixa since 1996 where she enjoys life with her husband Rich and their two children Spencer & Elena. She has always been an active person and her first experience with adding Yoga to her daily workout found it to be too frustrating and boring for Karen’s Pita personality. In 2004 Karen made a New Year’s resolution to attempt and to maintain a regular Yoga practice. She became hooked and praises Yoga for strengthening her knees, lower back and opening her heart and mind. Karen’s passion and interest in learning more about Yoga got the better of her and in the winter of 2009 she enrolled in the teacher training program at Teach to Inspire Yoga Education Center and completed her RYT 200 certification. Through the intensive program Karen realized the sustainability of Yoga and now views herself as a lifelong Yoga student. To further enhance her Yoga education and teachings in the Fall of 2009 Karen completed the Calming Kids Yoga certification in Boulder, Colorado. This is a Yoga based program that addresses and teaches anti-bullying and anti-aggression techniques while increasing concentration ability in school age children. Currently Karen is teaching a Family Yoga class and occasionally subs classes at Teach to Inspire. She is also teaching Yoga in the Gifted program at High Pointe Elementary in Nixa, Mo. |
